ThermoWood Timber Frame is unique to Swallow Greenhouses. This high performance timber from Finland is perfect for wooden greenhouses. Itâs heat treated to over 200 degrees to remove moisture and resin. This process results in a consistently coloured timber, with improved dimensional stability and most importantly improved durability against decay. This a long lasting performance wood developed for exterior cladding of buildings in harsh Scandinavian weather, making it perfect for building tough wooden greenhouses.
Wrought Iron Features make a big difference to the look of this greenhouse. Because of the traditional Victorian design of the Eagle, the addition of wrought iron roof crestings, door handle and side window latches really complete the look of this greenhouse, giving it a solid feel as well as great looks.
Automatic Roof Vents come as standard in this greenhouse. Because the roof is nice and high on this model we include autovents to make life easier and safer. Autovents require no electricity or solar power as theyâre filled with wax. As the wax heats up and liquefies the roof vent will open, as it cools it closes, simple!
Slatted Staging and Shelving is also a standard feature on the Eagle greenhouse. You get a full length down one side of staging at waist height as well as a full length of shelving at eye height down one side.
Free Installation is included with every Swallow Eagle Greenhouse. Simply order, pay your deposit and your greenhouse will be manufactured for you, delivered and then installed in your garden. Wooden Greenhouses are very heavy, so the base needs to be solid! We recommend a base of either concrete or well-laid slabs. However, for smaller greenhouses, decking can also be a good option. If you want soil inside your greenhouse, you can make a perimeter base from bricks laid onto concrete footings.
If you look at the Greenhouse Dimensions diagram on this page you will see "Minimum Base Size", use that. We will also email/post you a base plan for you to work from. Easy!
We recommend that you apply a good quality wood preserver within 3 months of your greenhouse installation. Then apply a protective coat yearly thereafter. It’s easy to do and your greenhouse will love you for it!
First things first, these greenhouses cannot be brought through your house or garage, as the panels are too large to fit through any normal doorway. We need a straight-through run with no height restrictions or right-angle turns as the panels are too long/high to go around tight bends.
OK, so if you select the Dwarf Wall Option for your new greenhouse you will receive a Wall Plan by email and post. You can give this Wall Plan to your builder and they will be able to build a wall to the exact size we need to install your greenhouse onto.
No problem, if you get the RAL code for the paint colour you want we can paint the greenhouse in that colour. This service does attract a 15% increase in the paint price.
